Gijs van der Lelij

Born and raised in the South of Limburg, Gijs moved to Amsterdam in 1992 to study theatre, film and television at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). During this time he began collaborating with co-students on theatre and video productions. In 1998 he began working as a script-continuity / assistant director. In 2001 Gijs founded his own one-person company Umbrafilm. While working for television and film he gradually began expanding his activities with storyboarding and writing.
