Tanya McRae is an Emmy Award winning television producer and a two time Emmy nominated news reporter. She has worked in a variety of unscripted television genres including reality, docu-series, travel, lifestyle, DIY, home makeovers and talk shows. Tanya was born and raised in New York City and Cambridge, MA. She received a BA degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and began her career in television as an assignment desk assistant at "ABC World News Tonight" and "Nightline" in New York. She went on to work as a field producer, director, writer and executive producer on shows for ABC, NBC, FOX, Bravo, Lifetime, TLC, Travel Channel, OWN, Oxygen, MTV, Discovery Channel, Syfy, BET/Centric, UPtv, CMT, USA Networks and others. She has also worked in news as a reporter, anchor and producer in New York, Los Angeles and Palm Springs. Tanya has served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity and has been a member of the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences, Women Leaders Forum, Women in Film & Television, Producers Guild of America, Writers Guild of America, Soroptimist International, and the National Association of Black Journalists.
