Robert Reider is an LA based composer and sound designer for film, television and multimedia. As a multi-instrumentalist that is adept at using orchestras, electronic synthesizers and advanced sound design tools he creates scores utilizing a wide variety of influences and styles defining each project with its own rich and distinctively detailed sonic signature. Originally a drummer, he cut his teeth recording and playing drums, synths, and guitars in the Orlando punk rock scene. Through his connections in the music scene and after scoring a handful of short films in college, he landed a job teaching audio post production at a large university where he honed in on his recording and producing chops. It was at this time that he secured his first serious film work after he provided all the sound and music for the successful short film, "2:22" (Best Short - 2010 A Night of Horror, Best Short - 2010 Killer Film Fest, Best Horror Short / Best Score - 2009 MIFF) Scored feature films include the documentary "Surviving Supercon" (2020 FFF opening film, 2020 MIFF Best Score / Best Feature Documentary and Silver Telly Winner) and cult film "Doomsday County" (Troma Entertainment). Notable short films include the thriller "Elixir" starring Gabrielle Stone / Dee Wallace - the action film "Four Hour Layover in Juarez" starring Briana Evigan / Erin Sanders / Mike C. Manning / Maitlyn Pezzo and 2 shorts produced by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw franchise) - the thriller "Good Girl" starring Zack Ward / Amanda Markowitz (2020 HRIFF PCA Best Short) and the horror film "Sockmonster" starring Briana Evigan / Derek Mears. He sound designed the immensely popular Crypt Tv horror mini series "The Door in the Woods" and the Asylum feature "Hornet" in which there is no score and the most intense moments are underscored with his sound design. He has also had the privilege of providing additional music for the film "Cruel Hearts" for composers Ian Arber (The Capture), Joe Kraemer (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation), and John Massari (Attack of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space). When he isn't spending time with his beautiful family, you will find him playing retro games on his modded arcade machines, listening to vinyl and collecting all ages of Garbage Pail Kids cards.
