Gabriel Nacu's first movie role was as an extra in the film Paratroopers (Parasutistii) but it was his lead role as Babusca in The Adventures of Babusca (Aventurile lui Babusca) which elevated him from unknown schoolboy to child star. Although the film brought him great acclaim, Gabriel's heart was set on working as a musician and music became his career. The bands he played in, in Romania , were (Harap Alb, Red and Black / Rosu si Negru, Voltaj, Compact B, Riff). In the UK, he worked as a session musician and also recorded and toured with an English band from Eastbourne, Caligula. He was often appearing on Romanian Television Music shows with performances and early pioneering 80's music videos. In 1984, Red and Black won the first prize and critical music award in Dresden, East Germany. This festival was the socialist countries' equivalent of Eurovision. Gabriel now resides in the UK and continues to play as a musician, composer, guitarist and bassist. He now makes music in his home studio and works in the IT industry. The Adventures of Babusca movie is still played on Romanian Television to this day and is highly regarded in the country.
