Originally from Minnesota, Phillip Montgomery is a Los Angeles based filmmaker. He is a graduate of film studies from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Phillip's directing work spans award-winning films, TV, music videos, along with numerous award-winning commercials for brands such as Jack Daniel's, Guinness, Walmart, GE, IBM, and more. In 2018 he made his television debut as the second-unit director for the CBS drama ONE DOLLAR. Also in 2018, he received the Cannes Silver and Bronze Lions for his commercial work with the 60th Anniversary Grammy Awards. That year, his critically acclaimed short dance/horror film CHILD OF THE SKY had a busy festival run including a premiere screening at the 2018 New York Film Festival. In 2013 Phillip earned a place in SHOOT MAGAZINE's prestigious New Directors Showcase and the Cannes 2013 New Director Award for his documentary work with the 2012 Olympic Games for P&G. Later that year, his film titled TODAY, a documentary short about a man who learns to find meaning in his life's work after a tragic accident, was honored with the Special Jury Prize at the Seattle International Film Festival. In 2012, Phillip made his feature documentary film debut with #ReGENERATION, exploring the state of activism in today's youth. Narrated by Academy-Award-Winner Ryan Gosling, #ReGENERATION won Best FutureWave Feature (The Youth Jury Award) at the Seattle International Film Festival. It was released in over 12 cities theatrically in May of 2012.
