Sharon Waxman was formerly a correspondent for The Washington Post and The New York Times. In 2009, she founded the media news site TheWrap, and she continues to run the property as the CEO and editor-in-chief. TheWrap was named the best online news site by the Los Angeles Press Club in 2009 and 2012 at the National Entertainment Journalism Awards by the Los Angeles Press Club, and was named one of the "100 Most Important Online Publishers" in 2010 by OMMA, the magazine of online media, marketing and advertising. Before her success covering the Hollywood media industry, Sharon Waxman grew up in Ohio and attended Barnard College. She got her masters in Middle East studies from Oxford University. After that, she entered the field of journalism as a foreign correspondent in Europe and the Middle East.
