António Polainas

António Polainas has a degree in Architecture from the Superior School of Fine Arts in Lisbon (ESBAL), a Master in Architecture Theory and a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Beira Interior (UBI). António Polainas dedicated his professional life to architecture, art director and university education. Since 1977 he has worked in RTP developing activities as Scenographer, Head of Stage Execution, Head of Planning and Management of Operational Means and Head of Department of Videography. Since 1998 he has been Monitor of the RTP Training Center in the Television Scenography Area. In the framework of the partnerships between RTP and its counterparts in PALOP's, it has secured several scenography works in Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea and São Tomé and Príncipe, reconciling these functions with that of a university professor and several research works. He is also known for being one of the founding partners of SCENA - Portuguese Scenography Association.
