In the entertainment world, attitude, talent and perseverance is a must! Working character Actor Dennis Jay Funny, a Gemini and a twin, is embodiment of these ingredients. No, he's not a comedian who changed his name to make people smile. Funny is his actual birth name and everything Dennis Jay Funny touches is serious business. His Dad is from South Carolina and his mother is from Alabama. Their families moved to upstate New York as teenagers where they attended different high schools. Dennis and his twin (the Funny Twins) were born in Tacoma, Washington at Joint Base Lewis-McChord where his father had recently been stationed. They grew up in Westchester, NY. Dennis enjoyed High School. He was voted "most popular and class clown" and was Captain of the Football team at Alexander Hamilton High School. The Math standout (who scored 100% in Algebra, 95% in Geometry & 97% in his Trigonometry New York State Regents Final exams) then went on to Engineering powerhouse, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (rpi.edu) in Troy, New York on scholarship. In Dennis' first film, sports epic "Any Given Sunday", director Oliver Stone utilized Shark player, '#47's' unique acting expertise and diverse skills. A few years later the New York character actor was encored by Stone in the opening sequence of his "World Trade Center" film as the musical hipster waiting on the subway platform the morning of September 11th. A longtime underground event promoter in New York City; his friendly notoriety has inspired a following of dedicated revelers. An extensive traveler, Dennis has forged positive relationships worldwide. This former Wall Streeter has dedicated his life to inspiring others. The only remnant of his white collar past is a trademark trail of cigar smoke left in his wake, though he claims he is cutting back. When asked what's next? He replied, "Who knows?
