Armando P. Ibáñez is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, poet and professor. He serves as Director of the Radio-Television-Film Program (RTF) and Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He teaches writing, producing, directing and cinematography. Ibáñez has written, produced and directed feature documentaries, shorts and narratives. His latest documentary, entitled South Texas Gentle Men of Steel - Los Padres, has won a number of awards, including: Award of Merit, Feature Documentary, Accolade Global Film Competition; three Gold Awards, Feature Documentary and Directing, International Independent Film Awards; Award of Excellence and Award of Merit, The IndieFest Film Awards; and Gold Remi Award, WorldFest-Houston. His first feature documentary about the Katina Disaster, Not Broken, won the highest award bestowed by WorldFest Houston International Film Festival in 2008 - the Platinum Remi Award. Ibáñez earned an MFA from The American Film Institute, and is the founder and President of Pluma Pictures Inc., a non-profit film production company, dedicated to producing films about heroes dedicated to the betterment of the community. He is listed in the Dictionary of Literary Biography.
