Collier was a reasonably well known Opera singer after World War II but her career suffered after losing an eye in an operation, which was then followed by deafness, which made following stage instructions difficult. She moved to acting, appearing in Pantomime in the mid 1950s and Marrying comedian Warwick Price. Under her real name, Beryl Price, she was convicted of cheque fraud in 1958 and imprisoned for nine months.
