Bill Filipiak is an award winning video director and editor living in Nashville, TN. His body of work includes network television series, Web series, documentary films and music videos. Known for his strong sense of story and a deep appreciation for music, his work has been featured on Showtime, The Movie Channel, CMT Canada, CMT Pure, Music.Yahoo.com, GAC, RollingStone.com, USAToday.com, NYTimes.com and BluegrassSituation.com. A 1988 graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia, Bill got his start in radio hosting a polka show on WDOE in Dunkirk, NY. He eventually ended up in Los Angeles in 1988 working at KZLA/KLAC radio as a morning show producer and ultimately creative director for Premiere Radio Networks. He made the switch to television working as a second engineer at Saban Entertainment moving up to the role of music editor on such shows as Digimon, VR Troopers and Eagle Riders. In 1994 Bill moved to Nashville, TN where he opened up his own post production shop and continued building a resume in television post. A gig with the Nashville Predators of the NHL put a camera in his hand directing and producing stories for the pre-game show. As he honed his editing skills, he started taking on freelance jobs on shows for CMT, USA & PAX TV. He got his chance to direct his first network television series in 2008 when he was pegged to direct / edit "Meet the Wilsons" for CMT Canada. In 2010 he was asked by a previous boss and one of the founders of Premiere Radio to co-direct and edit Family Band: The Cowsills Story, which made its debut on Showtime in March of 2013. A fan of independent music, In 2012 Bill began directing music videos for several Americana artists and has since worked with several Grammy winning and nominated artists including The Steep Canyon Rangers, Don Williams, Lee Ann Womack, and Sarah Jarosz. Other artists Bill has worked with include Lera Lynn of True Detective fame, Liz Longley, Kelleigh Bannen, Love & Theft and Ben Glover.
