Aleksandar Sapic is primarily a (retired) sportsman whose national water-polo team won gold at the 2005 World Aquatics Championships in Montreal, a bronze medal in Beijing 2008, silver medal in Athens 2004, and a bronze medal in Sydney 2000. In 2006 he got involved in Serbian politics mostly as a promoter (being a popular face due to sports results), and in 2012 he was appointed a council chairman of the largest of Belgrade City's municipal councils, that of New Belgrade.
