Rege Lewis is an American actor and graduate of the William Esper Studio Two-Year Conservatory professional acting program in New York City, where he matriculated under the tutelage of the late great world renowned Meisner acting teacher, Bill Esper. Rege would then go on to make a Guest Star appearance as, Kendall in NBC's Primetime drama, Chicago PD-Season 2. The Georgia native - southern gent was introduced to acting by his then 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Diane Gilyard of T.W. Josey High School-Augusta, Ga. It was Mrs. Gilyard's planned field trip to the local theater that lead to Rege's interest in an acting career. Shortly after that, Rege found himself auditioning and performing with some of the local theaters in the CSRA. One being the Augusta Mini Theatre. A place he notes as, 'the shovel that did the groundbreaking', because that's where it all started. His will to seek out other opportunities in the area lead to his chance meeting with Bill and Carolyn of Model Productions; an Augusta based talent agency. That lead to an invitation to a worldwide talent show in Orlando, Fl where he earned first place in both modeling and acting. It was there that Rege met Joy Pervis and Brenda Pauley, Atlanta based talent agents who signed him immediately. That lead to his first booking...a regional commercial for Ted Turner's: TNT Network for Turner Classic Movies. Following the success of that commercial, Rege would make one of the most important decisions of his life. He decided to relocate...to Hollywood...and give it shot. With only $150 in his bank account, his father's Exxon gas card along with a tattered bible given to him by his mother, Rege packed up his 1988 Oldsmobile, and in 2003, he headed west for Hollywood. Within two days he was able to land a contract with a high powered boutique by the name of, Bob Waters Agency. Eight months and three auditions later, Rege booked a Guest Star role on CBS' Primetime drama, The Handler. His dream of being on a major television network had finally come true. Following that feat, he managed to earn a role opposite King of Comedy star DL Hugely in Shackles, and then later joined the cast of Suzi Lori-Parks' Pulitzer Prize-winning play, TopDog Underdog as Booth (understudy) at the Mark Taper Forum, directed by Award-winning director, George C. Wolfe. In addition to other television and film roles, Rege originated the role of 'The Carjacker' in Carson Kreitzer's world-premiere of, 1:23, which debuted at the Tony Award-winning Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, directed by NYU-Tish School Artistic Director, Mark Wing-Davey with Ed Stern serving as the Artistic Director, and Jackie Alexander's, The Right Reverend Dupree in Exile at the Billie Holiday Theater. Recent projects include his upcoming cameo appearance in Respect - The Aretha Franklin story, his supporting role as Erine Ryans in the Official Sundance Selection, All Rise, based on the New York Times best-selling novel, Monster by Walter Dean-Myers; And Lou in the world premiere of Nambi E. Kelly's, Phenomenal Woman: Maya Angelou produced by The North Carolina Repertory Company with Jackie Alexander serving as the Artistic Director.
