Robert Allwood was born in London, and has lived in Brighton, Berlin and Barcelona. He loves flamenco and fino (dry sherry). As Amor Bendito he sings beautiful, passionate and dramatic Spanish songs - Latin protest songs, the golden age of Latin melody, Spanish coplas/Canción Española, and rumba flamenca. He appeared in Come Dine With Me - Enfield as the entertainment, singing a Mexican ranchera. He has performed a humorous street act called The Yellow Man. He knows Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Catalan and Italian, having lived in Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands. He translated the original catalogue for the museum treasures rescued from Afghanistan. He has done training or workshops with Philippe Gaulier, Gerry Flanagan, Rick Zoltowski, John Mowat, Michael Chase, Peta Lily, Jonathan Kay and Els Comediants. Other activities have included physical theatre, meditation, yoga, and tai chi.
