Roxy Toporowych

Roxy is a graduate of NYU'S Tisch School of the Arts where she was awarded the Charles and Lucille King Scholarship for directors. While still at NYU her talent for set design led to an internship at SNL and propelled her other career as an assistant set decorator. Julia Blue is Roxy's narrative directing debut and was written while she was a Fulbright Scholar living in Ukraine from 2014 - 2015. Roxy was selected as part of the IFP Narrative Lab Directing Fellow program in 2016 and was the recipient of the Calvin Klein 'Live the Dream' grant for emerging female directors 2016 at the Gotham Awards. She was awarded a Women In Film Finishing Fund grant for Julia Blue in early 2018. Roxy was the winner of the Best Director award at the Sonoma International Film Festival 2019 and received a Special Jury Mention for Best Director World Cinema at the Woodstock Film Festival 2018.
