Rina Grishina was born on August 16, 1987 in Moscow region. She had lived with her family in Kamchatka till the age of 10, when she moved to Saint-Petersburg. She made her film debut at the age of 13 in the BBC mini-series "Crime and Punishment" directed by Julian Jarrold. At the same age, through her insatiable passion for the arts and natural gift as both a comedic and dramatic actress, she began to work in theatre alongside professional actors from where she started to learn the profession. Not one time Rina has proved she is a versatile artist. She graduated ballet school. She also attended music school and learned how to play violin, double bass and piano. Although she was active in the theatre and film industry, Rina hadn't been accepted from the first attempt at theatre university. For a couple of years she worked in the scenography department at Baltyisky Dom Theatre in Saint Petersburg. She graduated from Saint-Petersburg Theatre Art Academy in 2012. The next day she left the city for a new challenge in Moscow, where she wanted to make a career in cinema. The first years in Moscow were difficult because even though she had attended many auditions she didn't get any important role. So Rina worked mainly as a voice over actress. Rina went on to further develop her acting work at the Lee Strasberg Academy in Los Angeles in 2013. Rina's big break came after she starred in the "Kitchen" and "Hotel Eleon" TV series. Shortly it followed the leading role in "Policemen" (feature film and TV series) which made her a star in Russia. Now Rina is involved in many projects, both in cinema and TV. But acting is not the only activity in which she is involved. In 2018 Rina founded the first monthly short film festival in Moscow, called Moscow Shorts.
