Lawrence Kim is an award-winning Production Designer whose work has been recognized by peers and industry professionals alike. He pursued his undergraduate degree in architecture (BArch) in the US and attended the Architectural Association School of Architecture, obtaining an MArch (Architecture and Film) as a Rotary Foundation Scholar and International Ambassador to London. His designs include an ambassador's residence for the Slovak Embassy, an Itaewon Penthouse Project and the Hanam City Municipal Stadium Masterplan. His work is part of the permanent collection at the UnoAErre(TM) Museum in Arezzo, Italy (as 1 of 15 International Architects' selected designs). A former UIA deputy councilor for the Asia region and principal author for the bid proposal regarding Korea's Assembly for the UIA Congress and Co-author for the Venice Biennale Treatise. Pursuing a second graduate degree, Lawrence received an MFA in Production Design as a fellow in the conservatory of the American Film Institute (AFI) and designed such films as The Wonder Girls (K-Pop) Feature Film, Escape from Tomorrow and Until We Meet Again. He has worked on such projects as Desperate Housewives (ABC), The Crickets Dance and Star Trek (Paramount). He has traveled to design the feature, Ode to Lata in Kenya, as well as The Hollywouldn'ts and A Cowgirl's Story. He designed a narrative short, Misdirection, helping to garner a student Emmy for his work. Lawrence has conducted international master class seminars as a visiting professor to Alaska, Chile and Turkey. He maintains his film design practice while training the next generation of designers as a Professor in Production Design, 2016-2022
