Anil Kumar Mehta

Born in Jalandhar (Punjab), India in 1954, Dr. Mehta grew up in New Delhi. Dr Anil Kumar Mehta comes from a family line of Ayurvedic Vaidya's (doctors), his grandfather Pandit Sain Ditta Mal Vaid was a famous Vaid at the time of the struggle for India's independence. At that time his grandfather was titled "Mehta" by the English rulers for his services as an Ayurvedic doctor. Dr. Mehta decided to take up the name of his grandfather and studied Ayurveda in Rohtak (Haryana), India. Knowing that Ayurveda had little prominence in Europe, Dr Mehta paved a way to spread authentic knowledge of Ayurveda in the west. He migrated to The Netherlands in the early 80's and began his Ayurvedic practice. Dr. Anil Kumar Mehta has over 25 publications (books and magazines) in English and Dutch to his name. Held frequent lectures all over Europe, It has been over 20 years now that he opened his own school, European Institute for Scientific Research on Ayurveda where he has trained over 2,000 students in Ayurveda. Ever since Dr. Mehta was a young boy, he had a great interest in the performing arts, Bhangra, Ghazals, Poetry and Films. In the late 70's Dr Mehta visited Mumbai, where most of the Hindi movies were made and that is where he got inspired to become an actor and producer. He started production for a film and the rest was history! He managed to maintain both his professions with equal priorities. He has produced 3 Hindi feature films, 2 TV Series (Indian TV channel Doordarshan) 1 documentary called 'India Calling', co-produced a dance musical (which is also his theatre debut as an actor) called Divine Radha. 'Madhav - Every Child Needs A Mentor' is Dr Mehta's latest project. This movie marks Dr. Anil Kumar Mehta's directorial and acting debut! This is just the beginning, there are many more projects coming up!
