Sophie Sharkov is a Bulgarian-born American film and theater actress based in Los Angeles. An only child Sophie was imaginative, observant , and captivated by puppet theater. She joined a puppetry club and was also a member of the school choir; She received a Gold Medal for Soloist at a national youth choir competition in Bulgaria. Her high school years were spent in Los Angeles where she pursued broadcast journalism as a commentary anchor for John Marshall High's weekly broadcast Campus News. She wrote, shot, edited, and delivered her own segments. A brush with censorship changed her course from journalism to filmmaking. She studied to become a film director at Pasadena City College for 2 years. Despite high acclaim from her film art professor and mentors, Sophie found commercial success in front of the camera instead. She was discovered at the original Cat and Fiddle pub on St. Patrick's day and offered an audition the following day. She booked the job without prior acting training. As a result of this, she studied acting for eight years, three of which- full time. She is a certified graduate of the Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre.
