Yevgeny Kafelnikov is the first Russian tennis player to win the Grand Slam singles tournament (Roland Garros, 1996) and was ranked World number 1 (May 3 - June 13, 1999). He was the winner of the Australian Open in 1999. In doubles he won at Roland Garros in 1996, 1997, 2002 and US Open in 1997. 2000 Olympic champion in singles. Winner of the Davis Cup in 2002 as part of the Russian team. He won the Kremlin Cup in Moscow for a record five consecutive times between 1997 and 2001. Since retiring from tennis, Kafelnikov cashed three times at the 2005 World Series of Poker. He also played golf on the European Tour at the 2005, 2008, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Russian Open, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Austrian Open. In 2019, he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
