Born in Tokyo, Japan, Yasuhiro Morinaga has been working internationally as a sound designer and sound artist. Morinaga's sound design works for film have been screened at various international film festivals, such as Berlinale, Pusan, PIFF and TokyoFimex. In addition, he has worked on a variety of projects including theatre, contemporary dance and installations. Morinaga's artistic approach toward the amalgamation of sound and image has been exhibited and performed at international Art and Music Festivals such as Sonorities Contemporary Music Festival (Ireland) and Sound Image Sound Festivals/Music Beyond Performance (curated by Robert Coburn). Morinaga attended the Asian Film Academy (Pusan International Film Festival) and Berlinale Talented Campus 2007 (Berlin International Film Festival) as one of the representative members for Japanese film makers. Since 2007 he has been undertaking a PhD in New Media at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
