Diarmuid graduated from The National Film School in 2003 with his short film 'Nell' picking up 3rd in the Best First Short category at the Galway Film Fleadh. A documentary job offer took his fancy and Diarmuid spend the next few years directing factual and dramatic programming with RTÉ and TG4, Ireland's leading broadcasters. In 2010, Diarmuid wrote and directed 'Car Park' which was a Semi-Finalist at the Action/Cut Short Film Competition in Los Angeles. In 2010 Diarmuid also directed 'The Line', a drama that The Sunday Times called 'a slickly executed dystopian drama made with the confident swagger of director Goggins'. 'Jesus, Mary & Mattie' was Diarmuid's next drama, a moving adaptation of Patrick Pearse's short story about a man, Mattie, who after his losing his wife struggles to find any meaning in his life. Diarmuid is currently working on a feature length documentary, 'Sceal na Gaeilge' ('The Story of the Irish Language'), which tells the story of the Irish language in a fun and sometimes hilarious way. The documentary mixes live action with animation and green-screen elements bringing the presenter on an unforgettable journey.
