Born in Newark, New Jersey, Alonzo was raised by his single mother Lillian. The small family, which consisted of his mother, his younger brother Anthony (A/K/A Royal)and himself moved several times across the Midwest and East coasts. In 1982, the family became disenfranchised and was homeless in New York City for several years, during which time Alonzo attended acting classes at the Michael Sawyer acting studio but was unable to fully complete them due to relocation issues and financial setbacks. After an extremely difficult period, the family eventually settled in Brooklyn, New York. Having always been raised by his mother in a Christian manner, Alonzo easily turned a blind eye to alcoholism and drugs (even during the period of homelessness), instead enjoying his hobby of reading comic books (he is a self professed Marvel comics fanatic), working out with weights and writing short stories. After graduating high school, he briefly attended College but left shortly thereafter due to financial hardships at home. He soon obtained employment in various fields of employment including a temporary dish washer and chef at Timberlake camp in upstate New York. Due to his muscular 6' 1", 250 plus pound physique, Alonzo easily landed several temporary jobs as a security guard and bodyguard. He eventually accepted a position as a Campus Police Officer with the City University of New York. During his free time, Alonzo found as much acting work as he could, just to be on a production set. Although the majority of the work was walk on roles and as a stand in, he enjoyed being on production sets, as they served to inspire him to continue his acting goals. Alonzo eventually moved out on his own but still keeps in touch with family. After years of non union acting work, he eventually earned a coveted membership into the Screen Actors Guild. He soon met and befriended actor Bobby Washington, working with him on the short film "Untitled Love." Alonzo has since worked on two scripts with talented screenwriter Sandy Chertok and is working on two other scripts with actors Tommy Tumolo and Alan Gary (respectively). He is currently on the lookout for acting opportunities in television and film, including comic book superhero and Sci-fi based features, police/crime dramas, action adventures and comedies. He enjoys writing, weight training and watching action/adventure & Sci-Fi films. He also enjoys surfing the internet which he does frequently.
