Born in Boston Massachusetts, Schultz began his film career as the lead actor and AD in The Business (2004). He studied film communications, finance, and marketing at the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. Schultz served as a set production assistant on the feature film Black Irish (2007) and worked on a number of television commercials. He completed his first self-written feature The Bombay Project (2006) in December 2006.
