Janet Oseroff was born on December 19, 1944 in Deming, New Mexico, USA. She played piano when she was four years old, and appeared in her first film Marjorie Morningstar in 1958. She got into the music business in 1966 with Robin Leach's GO Magazine. In the late 60s she was in A&R and promotion for Atlantic Records with Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Yes, Bee Gees, Dr. John, Wilson Pickett, Roberta Flack. She opened The Rolling Stones film Gimme Shelter in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East in early 70s. She headed worldwide publicity for TK Records with KC and The Sunshine Band, George McCrae, Bobby Caldwell, Timmy Thomas, Betty Wright. In 1982 she produced a stage show starring Eartha Kitt and appeared in the film All By Myself: The Eartha Kitt Story. For many years she co-managed Ronnie Spector and managed Soupy Sales, consulted for Seinfeld's Kenny 'the real' Kramer and creator & writer of Animal House Chris Miller. She is featured in the 2015 documentary feature film The Record Man. Her first album of original music titled New 50s Music For Today is released worldwide and she wrote the mystery novel Midnight Song both under the name J. E. Laine, she is writing a show/film using songs from her music catalogue, and she is designing a clothing line.
