Born in Petaluma, California, Cassidy Arkin is an award-winning episodic and feature documentary producer and director dedicated to telling the rich, diverse stories of people through investigative and imaginative storytelling. A profound lover of culture and community, her work often explores music, ethnicity, and social movements. A Northern California native, Cassidy's work reflects a commitment to exploring what makes us universal, as a producer bringing to life the CBS documentary "Tulsa 1921: An American Tragedy" which details the brutal massacre that was hidden from the public eye to her exploration of storytelling in making short form pieces with Getty Images. Cassidy developed her talent for research, investigative journalism and compelling storytelling producing news and specials for broadcast journalism. Today, she is developing edgy, ground- breaking projects that pull from her extensive career in news, music and entertainment. Her work as a producer and director creates compelling narratives both in fiction and non-fiction, to feel intimate and cinematic to chronicle a journey. Her credits include the Emmy-nominated CBS documentary Tulsa 1921: An American Tragedy (Segment Producer), BET's My Two Cents (Producer), ABC's Good Morning America, Weekend (Producer), VH1's Hip Hop Honors BTS (Producer) and NBC's Weekend Vibe (Segment / Field Producer). Her additional awards include the NABJ Salute to Excellence as the producer for Best 2015 National Diversity PR & Marketing Campaign, J. Walter Thompson 2014 Innovator of the Year Award and IFP Documentary Lab Fellow. Cassidy is a graduate of Evergreen State College.
