Scott graduated from the US Naval Academy (B.S. in English) in Annapolis, and served as an A-6 (Intruder) bombardier/navigator in Attack Squadron Thirty-five, deploying aboard USS Nimitz and USS Theodore Roosevelt. He resigned his commission to enter the Professional Actor Training Program at UC San Diego, where he received his MFA in Acting. Since then Scott has played leading roles across the US and abroad, including at La Jolla Playhouse, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Moscow Art Theatre, Taiwan National Theater, American Conservatory Theater, and Folger Theatre. He has also been a member of three repertory acting companies: three seasons at the American Repertory Theatre, four seasons at PlayMakers Repertory Company, and one season at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Scott has taught Acting at Arizona State University, Davidson College, UNC, and UConn. He is currently the Chair of the Department of Theatre at the University of San Diego.
