A native of Washington, DC, Edwina Findley burst onto the television scene in David Simon's HBO series THE WIRE, followed by four seasons of HBO's critically acclaimed drama TREME, and Ava DuVernay's Sundance-winning film MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. Edwina will next be seen in Amazon's thriller THE POWER alongside Leslie Mann, Tim Robbins, and John Leguizamo, British espionage thriller FREEGARD for AMC+, and Apple's upcoming comedy, CARPE. Edwina starred in the hit Warner Bros comedy feature GET HARD, opposite Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, and garnered critical acclaim for her leading role in FREE IN DEED, which won the Horizon Award for Best Film at Venice Film Festival, and Edwina garnered an Independent Spirit Award Nomination for her performance. At the height of her final season of HBO's Emmy nominated series TREME, Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey enlisted Edwina to star in OWN network's IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG which premiered to record setting ratings. Other television credits include: FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (AMC), BLACK LIGHTNING (CW), CHICAGO MED (NBC), SHOTS FIRED (FOX), VEEP (HBO), THE WIRE (HBO), and more. Edwina has also performed extensively on stage, earning her the Barrymore Award for Outstanding Lead Actress and the NAACP Theatre Award nominations. Edwina studied theatre and music at the renowned Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, and is an alumna of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. In addition to her acting career, Edwina is writer and sought-after motivational speaker; together she and her husband, Kelvin Dickerson, are the Co-Founders of AbundantLifeU, a national organization empowering millennials to succeed personally and professionally.
