After working on local radio in the late '70s and early '80s, he began writing for "Weekending" (BBC Radio Four) and "The News Huddlines" (BBC Radio Two). This led to a variety of work on radio and television, including Spitting Image (1984) (Central TV). Dackombe has provided voiceovers for narration and radio and TV commercials, and has also acted in a number of films and television shows.
