Michael Anthony Piscioneri was born on September 5, 1968 in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the youngest of eight children from his father, James, who worked as a longshoreman and I.L.A. Union manager, as well as Mary Jane who was a housewife. He is of Italian descent, and went to Catholic grade school. He eventually studied Marketing at Miami University and The Ohio State University, where he was also active in theater and creative writing. Upon graduation he moved to Chicago to study acting and improvisation with The Second City. After several years of performing around town he moved to Los Angeles to pursue film and television. Once in LA, he starting getting roles in independent films and commercials, and eventually created a production company with his wife, Lori Ann, an accomplished Opera Singer. Project Blackfish Productions originated from his last name, which means black fish in Italian. Together they are producing film and television while he continues to work as an actor.
