In a professional career that started in theater at the age of 13, Steven Meyer has worked in almost every area of the entertainment industry. Beginning as an actor and stage manager as a teenager in Minnesota, he landed at the Guthrie Theater in 1980 and had the opportunity to work with directors, Liviu Ciuli, Garland Wright, Allan Schneider, Richard Foreman, and Marshall Mason. As a theater director he toured his production of "Steambath" through Midwest maximum security prisons, as well as directing a critically acclaimed production of "Happy Birthday, Wanda June" (among others) before moving to New York. Since moving to the East Village in 1982, his focus shifted to Film and Television. A stint as an independent video producer resulted in a number of video art pieces in collaboration with Juan Downey. They have been seen at the Whitney, MOMA, and national and international museums too extensive to list. Since then, Steven has crewed for film and television and worked as a Producer, Director, Designer, Technical Director for diverse clients like - Nike, Benetton, Post Perfect, The Biosphere in Arizona, Dennis Earl Moore, Edwin Schlossberg, Val Kilmer, and Laurie Anderson. Since 1994 he has worked primarily as a Visual Effects and Post Production Supervisor/Producer/Director for features, long format television, and the occasional commercial. In addition to developing and building efficient CGI pipelines & crews to serve these shows, Steven also developed a project management system for tracking shot layers through the CGI pipeline. Currently he is working with Historical Media® having just finished co-directing, producing and editing "Keepers of Eden" narrated by Joanne Woodward - Winner of the "Pierre Salinger Award" for best documentary at the New York Avignon Film Festival and directing the documentary "Buried Prayers" - A feature length HD originated doc about bringing an archaeological team to the Nazi death camp Maidanek and what they found there.
