Rick Darge was born in South Plainfield, New Jersey and discovered filmmaking at an early age - often employing family members around him to star in his short films and fake infomercials. In high school, Darge directed music videos, shorts, documentaries and an indie high school movie called, Broken Strings. Darge went on to study and graduate from USC Film School in 2004 with a degree in Cinema-Television. He spent the next few years working in post production, cutting everything from feature length documentaries, commercials, television specials - before transitioning into cinematography. Darge would go onto win an Emmy award for his work on one of the first web series' programs ever to be nominated, Satacracy 88. Having found success in cinematography, Darge made his final transition into his writing / directorial debut with the award winning, Zen Dog, starring Kyle Gallner, Adam Herschman and featuring the spoken words of deceased philosopher, Alan Watts.
