Lem is a Singaporean writer-director who has made films in US, UK and China. The visually evocative worlds in his films are inspired by his interactions with diverse cultures throughout his nomadic life in Asia, Europe and US. Lem wrote and directed his award-winning debut feature Prescient (2015) in Niagara Falls, a Singapore-US co-production produced with John Hannon and Monty Python producer Mark Forstater starring Michael Piccirilli and Pamelyn Chee. Lem wrote and directed Altered Memories (2011) in London starring Alex Rendall, Nina Fog, Oris Erhuero and Rebecca Roberts. Lem produced Better Place (2010) in Beijing with director Yim Linq starring Golden Horse nominee Yuan Tian. Lem directed Self II (2010) for fashion label Misomber Nuan's Fall 2011 collection which premiered at the Paris Fashion Week. Lem shot one of his early films He who once was (2003) in New York with Tommaso Rossellini and Austin Jack Lynch on 16mm with a Bolex, and edited it on a Steenbeck. Lem studied Art & Architecture for his undergrad at The Cooper Union in New York under renowned architects Raimund Abraham and Peter Eisenman. Lem studied Directing in Los Angeles under legendary directing coach Judith Weston as well as Writing & Directing at the London Film Academy under David Pope and Oscar winning directors Asif Kapadia and Pawel Pawlikowski.
