Nick Ortega was born and raised in Fresno, CA before moving to Los Angeles where he graduated with honors from UCLA's Theater Film and Television department. Since graduating, he has successfully remained creatively active in all facets of Film TV and Theater. Nick is a current student in the masters program at the Groundlings school of improve; recent performances include Coyote (winner of the Grand Jury award at the Dances with Films festival and Best Ensemble Cast at the Evolution Festival) ; Working with Michael Cerra in the short film and cult hit Gregory Go Boom; Award winning short Film An Open Door; and the lead role in FindingNeo featuring Clancy Brown. He won Portlands 2012 Drammy award for Best Male Lead for his performance in Oedipus El Rey; performed as Tranio in Taming of the Shrew and Michael Williams in Henry V at the Acclaimed Shakespeare Santa Cruz festival in the summer of 2013 followed by a 6 week national tour for Latino's Shaping a Nation.
