Tawd b. Dorenfeld is a filmmaker, artist, stop motion animator, director, and writer. He is primarily known for his feature-length live-action and animated film "The Anna Cabrini Chronicles" as well as numerous animated shorts and music videos. Born and raised in Petaluma, California, he studied Film in Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, graduating 1996. Much of Dorenfeld's personal history inspires the making of his films. His first film, "The Anna Cabrini Chronicles" was inspired by the suicide of a beloved family member and his brief involvement in Jewish Hasidism in the mid 2000's lead him to direct and animate the feature film, "Master of a Good Name" alongside a Hasidic producer. Dorenfeld has thus far written and directed a total of 5 independent features which have been acquired by distribution companies, Eye Film Releasing and Shoreline Entertainment. His distinctive stop-motion style resonates in his music video work, notably in videos with Serj Tankien of System of a Down and for Trey Spruance of Secret Chiefs 3, who also collaborated in creating the sound-scape of "The Anna Cabrini Chronicles."
