Alvarez-Stehle is an award-winning Spanish and American journalist, documentary filmmaker and impact producer. In the early 1990s she worked in Tokyo on documentary projects for NHK Enterprises, then as editor-in-chief of the International Press En Español weekly. She became Tokyo's then Los Angeles' correspondent for Spain's El Mundo daily. In 1995, she moved to Los Angeles. Since then, she worked on Canal+ documentary film "Tin Girls," directed several short documentaries (among them, "Sold In America"), and produced "Through the Wall" short documentary (acquired by The Guardian and PBS). She wrote/directed/produced "Sands of Silence: Waves of Courage" documentary film which was broadcast on RTVE and is slotted for broadcast on PBS September 27, 2020; she was invited to present it at the High Level Political Forum, United Nations, New York and at the European Parliament. She is developing the documentary films "Montse Watkins: Kamakura Tales" and "Is There a Remedy: On the Verge of Sexual Violence." She is a member of the diverse global Creative Compass Collective (CCC), producing the feature documentary, "Paused: Life Under C-19." July 2020.
