Mark Mainguy graduated from Ryerson University Toronto, Ontario. His love of photography and overall talent had him soon perusing a very successful career as a photographer. Mark worked hard and soon went from shooting fashion layouts and pop-culture pieces for a number of popular Canadian/American/European magazines, to traveling the world and working with some of the top names in the magazine publication industry. His talent and love of photography eventually lead to him behind a different type of camera - a Cinematic Camera. With his easygoing attitude, his eye for the humorous nature of people in realistic situations, and his natural ability of capturing the moment in a single frame - it was obvious that this would eventually spill over into the art of film direction. He has an extremely vivid sense of the dramatic nature found within film as a medium, while always able to portray the complexities of life in a humorous tone. His charismatic nature and ability to adapt to many different genres make him one of Canada's most sought after directors within the commercial industry. In 2005, Mark debut his first short-film at the acclaimed Sundance Film Festival. "The Pizza Shop" displayed Mark's technical abilities, as well as leading the audience on a short and intense journey from fear to laughter. His impeccable scene transitions made sure that any who have watched this short (available for viewing on his official site) were continuously enthralled by the narrative of his lens. Mark's love of photography, film, and the artistic pursuit of making his audience part of his vision is obvious in everything that he creates.
