Kate Bell was born in Sydney, Australia, but moved to Hong Kong and spent the next five years living abroad. Growing up she spent time in both the USA and Australia, graduating from high school in Armidale, NSW. Kate auditioned for the University of Wollongong and received immediate admittance for a Bachelor of Creative Arts (3 years) studying Screen Production and Theatre. She also studied opera and dance. It was in her first year at university that Kate was discovered and signed by her agents. She was then cast as the guest role of Susie in Home and Away and two months later prior to graduating landed the lead role in the teen hit TV series Blue Water High. Her popularity in this series gained Kate recognition in Australia and Europe. The show was nominated for a TV Week Logie Award and two A.F.I Award Nominations. In this same year she was asked to Present at the 'Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards' and become the teen face of the TV campaign for 'Clearasil' which she filmed in Malaysia with director Grant Matthews. Kate appeared in guest roles on ABC's 'The Chaser', TV1's Comedy Series 'Stupid Stupid Man' and then she made her Feature Film debut in Geoffrey Wright's 'Macbeth' as a Witch along side Sam Worthington. In 2008 due to the popularity of her character, producers requested her return for 'Blue Water High series 3' which she accepted and returned as an instructor to the teen stars. Kate then landed the lead role of Rachel Barber in the feature film 'In Her Skin' alongside actors Sam Neill, Guy Pearce and Miranda Otto. This followed with her performance playing Cassie in the online series Scorched - the cross platform to the mini-series which won an International digital Emmy Award at the MipTV in Cannes. She was then cast as Mary Houston Phillips in Steven Spielberg's 'The Pacific' and the Australian Feature Films, 'Summer Coda' & 'The Cup'. In 2012 she went back to University to complete her degree.
