Simon earned Master's degrees in English Literature at Oxford and Stanford Universities before being accepted onto UCLA Film School's prestigious screenwriting program, where he earned an MFA. He also won the first BAFTA Scholarship, a Samuel Goldwyn Award, the Harmony Gold Award of Excellence, was a Finalist in the Disney Fellowship and twice a semi-finalist in the Nicholl Fellowship. Since then Simon has worked on numerous projects with US and UK production companies. He has been a writer and film producer at Cool Hand International for over ten years during which time he has had directors like Dexter Fletcher, Nigel Cole, Andy Fickman, Ash Brannon, John Stevenson, Kirk Jones and Declan Lowney attached to his work. As a producer, Simon's role encompasses all aspects of the business from the initial development of ideas, optioning of properties, screenwriting, editing, foreign sales, finance models and fundraising, to managing talent, agency and studio relationships. Most recently, Simon wrote the story, co-wrote the screenplay and co-produced the British hit comedy EDDIE THE EAGLE, starring Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman. The film was produced by Matthew Vaughn and directed by Dexter Fletcher. It had a worldwide release through Twentieth Century Fox and Lionsgate in the UK. The previous year Simon was an Executive Producer on Jeff Lowe's remarkable true life story METANOIA, which won multiple awards at film festivals around the world including Kendal, Trento, Banff, Boulder, Domzale and Sheffield. Simon has also Co-Chaired the BAFTA LA Scholarship Committee and has helped grow it over twenty years into the most generous film school scholarship program in the world. He has also performed as voice talent in movies such as Robert Zemeckis's POLAR EXPRESS, BEOWULF and A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
