Perhaps the most exciting personality to score big overseas, Rick Tan is without a doubt one of Singapore's most victorious export in the entertainment industry. Back after enjoying a successful tenure in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China as a versatile talk show and entertainment host, Rick has decided to return to where his heart is - his homeland, Singapore. Rick started out his career as a top model and graced the catwalks before shooting to instant stardom when he was selected to be one of the pioneer VJs for THE music and entertainment station, MTV. Being a VJ paved the way to greater successes as Rick achieved celebrity status all over the region. Other than his experience on MTV, Rick was highly sought after by major TV networks. His approachable, humorous and confident delivery has led TVBS, Sun TV, SET TV and even Star TV's popular music avenue, Channel V, to be knocking at his door! They have, together with other networks, made him the face and personality of over 20 entertainment, music and talk shows. He has since starred in numerous commercials for Coca Cola, Toyota and the then Singapore Telecom, Singapore Press Holdings to name a few. The linguistically effective Rick can speak English, Mandarin, Taiwanese, even tackle dialects with ease. This served as a catalyst when Rick decided to give acting a shot. The talented star stole the hearts of Chinese viewers in the region with his stellar performances as the male lead in China Television Station's TV series "This is My Class" and "Searching for Mr Right", to name a few. He has also starred in the film Girls Interrupted and displayed his acting skills before live audiences in The Necessary Stage's production, "Mardi Gras". Although he has been voted as one of the 10 sexiest men in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and in the world, Rick is not just all looks. The multi-talented man is the brains behind many popular entertainment programs. These include "Fashion Police" and "Jump Start", amongst several others, for Channel V; as well as Chinese Television Network's "Happy Hour" which was a highly regarded edutainment talk show view throughout the globe.
