Matti Laine (b. 1976) is a Finnish, Helsinki-based novelist, screenwriter and an actor. He has studied dramaturgy in the Tampere University and acting in the Theatre Academy, Helsinki. He has published eight crime-novels (among others: The Elias Vitikka -series) and is one of the writers of the Finnish Nordic-noir TV-series Bordertown (first-season) and The Bullets. Along with TV- and cinema, he has also written theatre-plays and does still some acting too, when the time is right. He loves football, hazy rock-clubs and Lapland.
