Ann Limberger was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and grew up in Beltsville, Maryland. When she was 11, she played a street urchin in a TV movie version of A Christmas Carol. She had one line, "Get him!" as she threw a fake snowball at Scrooge. She was immediately hooked on acting. Ann attended the University of Maryland, College Park where she earned a bachelor's degree in Life Sciences. Her first professional acting role came after college when she played Katrina Van Tassel in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Adventure Theatre in Glen Echo Park. Ann has Scandinavian, Irish, Scottish, Italian/Greek, and English ancestry. She married Christopher Doell, an aerospace engineer in 2012. In 2014, Ann received her Registered Nurse license.
