Mohamed Attia is an Egyptian award-winning production designer and art director who has established a prominent name in the industry across Egypt and the Arab region. His latest work includes the drama series EL TAMANYA, which features some of the Arab world's most prominent stars behind and in front of the camera. The series is now available on Shahid. Attia started his career in 2004 when he worked on director Mohamed Khan's KLEPHTY. Following that, he collaborated with Khan once more on DOWNTOWN GIRLS and IN THE HELIOPOLIS FLAT. Throughout his career, Attia worked on key Egyptian films by prominent directors, including Marwan Hamed, whom he worked with in the horror film series THE BLUE ELEPHANT, THE ORIGINALS, and DIAMOND DUST. He also worked with Yousry Nasrallah in After The Battle - which held its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival - and SCHEHERAZADE, TELL ME A STORY (2009). Furthermore, he collaborated with director Tarek Alarian in several films, including THE WALLS OF THE MOON, THE CELL, and the SONS OF RIZK film series. Moreover, Attia worked on THE KNOWER, starring Ahmed Ezz, which brought in more than EGP 59m, making it Egypt's highest-grossing film in 2021. Attia's astounding talent has won him several awards throughout his career, including five Best Set Design Awards from the Annual Film Society Festival For Egyptian Cinema for his films AFTER THE BATTLE, THE WALLS OF THE MOON, SONS OF RIZK, SCHEHERAZADE, TELL ME A STORY, and THE BLUE ELEPHANT, for which he also won Best Art Design from the Egyptian National Film Festival. He also won the Best Art Director Award from the Egyptian Catholic Center For Cinema for his film The Originals, as well as other awards within the Production Design Category of the Cairo Design Awards, including the Golden Award for DIAMOND DUST and BLUE ELEPHANT: DARK WHISPERS, and the Silver Award for SONS OF RIZK 2 and WEDDING SONG. Furthermore, in 2021, Attia was appointed as a jury member of the Set Design Competition of the Cairo Design Awards. Besides his work in the film industry, Attia also enjoys an impressive repertoire in terms of TV shows and series, working on all seasons of ABLA FAHITA EL DUPLEX. He also ventured into the world of music and entertainment through TV programs, working on Assala Nasri's SOULA and Amir Karara's SAHRANIN. Moreover, he worked on ABLA FAHITA: DRAMA QUEEN - which was released on Netflix - and AFRAH ALQOBA by Mohamed Yassin, where he created a world inspired by the aesthetic of the 1970s. Attia's work also includes the design for the musical play COCO CHANEL, which marked Sharihan's remarkable comeback. Additionally, he collaborated with many local and international brands, working with Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Vodafone, Etisalat, Orange, and WE, among others. Furthermore, he worked on several music videos, collaborating with key stars across the Arab world like Amr Diab, Assala Nasri, Angham, and Samira Said. Finally, Attia is also one of the key artistic directors behind various public events in the region. In addition to supervising the execution of the Pharaohs' Golden Parade - the coverage of which went viral on all social media platforms - he also served as the production designer and art director behind the parade that celebrated the restoration of Luxor's Avenue of Sphinxes. Before these two spectacular events, Attia worked as a production designer on big events like the World Youth Forum in 2018,2019, and 2021; the latest four consecutive editions of the Cairo International Film Festival; and the third edition of the El Gouna Film Festival.
