Rob Davis is a critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker, commercials director and co-owner of factual television company, Double Act. For the past twenty years, Rob has directed and exec produced primetime, high-profile factual television for the world's major broadcasters - including BBC, C4, ITV, Sky, NBC, Netflix, Discovery, Disney+, National Geographic and Animal Planet. He has earned a reputation for films with visual flair, humor, strong characters and compelling narratives. Rob has also directed commercial campaigns for some of the world's biggest brands - including Ford, Mastercard, Nokia & Colgate Palmolive. At just 25 Rob won his first award for a powerful deep-access documentary portraying the lives of two expectant mothers diagnosed with cervical cancer (My Baby Or My Life, C4, Royal Television Society Award). The next year he won an Emmy as Associate Producer for NBC's epic drama-documentary history series, Lost Civilizations. By 26, Rob became one of the youngest directors to work on the BBC's flagship documentary series, Modern Times. Since then he has produced over 100 hours of critically acclaimed television on a diverse range of subjects such as Science, Technology, Natural History, Crime, Human Interest and Reality TV. Rob has a passion for making groundbreaking television. He directed the original Child Genius that spawned the acclaimed, long-running Channel 4 series on gifted children; Fat Girls & Feeders - a cult film that inspired the shock-doc genre; the controversial C4 series, Dead Famous DNA, in which scientist Mark Evans scoured the world for body parts of dead famous people to analyze their DNA. He has also devised successful television formats, such as the adventure series, LOST (15 x 30' for C4, 6 x 1 for NBC) viewed as seminal by television critics and industry professionals. In recent years, Rob has turned his attention to Exec Producing UK and US primetime shows for National Geographic, Discovery Networks and Channel 4. His company, Double Act, is one of the UK's fastest growing independent TV companies. Based in Brixton (South London), it is also one of a few British 'true indies' to have broken America - making premium shows for Netflix, Disney+, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, HGTV, Facebook and Animal Planet's Number 1 hit show, Dr Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet.
