Alauda Ruiz de Azúa

"Cinema for me is a refuge, something that accompanies you. It has accompanied me in many things, it has made me understand many things and feel less alone." Director and screenwriter with a degree in English Philology from the University of Deusto and Audiovisual Communication from the UPV, she also graduated in Film Directing at the ECAM, where she directed the multi-award winning short film Clases Particulares as her graduation project. In parallel to her construction as a filmmaker, she developed a career in advertising, founding her own production company called Igloo Films and directing campaigns for Toyota, Coca-Cola and BBVA, among others. Her debut feature Cinco Lobitos premiered in the Panorama Selection at the Berlin Film Festival and received 11 nominations for the Goya Awards, of which she won in the category of Best New Director and gave impetus to a promising and committed career.
