John Singh

John Singh is owner and principal of J2 Communications, a PR consulting firm he founded in 2009 with an emphasis on genre-focused and specialty entertainment. J2's client list includes such top-caliber entertainment companies as Fathom Events and its series of classic films in the big screen; animation company Mondo and its production studio Six Point Harness; virtual-reality startup Spaces Inc.; and visual effects and VR leader CBS Digital. Past J2 Communications clients have included Paramount Pictures; Disney's D23 fan club; Blumhouse Productions and its innovative live attractions; Flixster/Rotten Tomatoes; and FremantleMedia in the U.S. and UK. John also increased awareness of the industry's highest honors for genre films, The Saturn Awards, by managing its publicity and events for two years. As an in-house communications and PR executive, he has led TV publicity for DreamWorks Animation, and also created and executed the launch PR strategy for Fandango. He also managed worldwide internal and executive communications for Disney Consumer Products during a period of explosive growth. From 2003 to 2009, John headed entertainment publicity for Lucasfilm Ltd., and created global publicity campaigns for all its film, TV, home video, licensing and select video game projects, as well as Industrial Light & Magic. He oversaw the worldwide publicity campaign for the eagerly awaited final chapter of the original "Star Wars" saga, "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith." John also worked on the launch of the latest Indiana Jones film, and also partnered with Cartoon Network to debut "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." A member of the Public Relations Society of America, John is a graduate of the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communications, and of the University of California at San Diego. Prior to his work in corporate and entertainment publicity, he was a newspaper journalist for Knight-Ridder, Capital Cities/ABC and United Press International. He and his husband Jeff live in Los Angeles.
