His brother, Jordan, played QB at UTEP and in the NFL with Washington, Cincinnati, Jacksonville and Chicago. Carson and his wife, Shaelyn, have three children. The 2002 Heisman Trophy Winner at USC, Palmer was selected by Cincinnati with the first overall selection in the 2003 NFL Draft. After eight seasons with the Bengals, he left Cincinnati ranked third in franchise history in career pass attempts (3,217), second in completions (2,024), first in completion percentage (62.9%), third in passing yards (22,694) and third in TD passes (154). In his first season in Arizona in 2013, Palmer started all 16 games and threw for a career-high 4,274 yards, becoming the first player in NFL history to throw for 4,000+ yards with three different teams (Cincinnati, 2006-07, Oakland, 2012). Palmer also became the third QB in franchise history to top 4,000 yards in a season and the first since Kurt Warner (4,583 in 2008). Carson was named a team captain in each of his first two seasons in Arizona (2013-14). The 2014 season represented the seventh time in his career that Palmer was named a team captain. Has posted a 16-6 record as a starter in Arizona, which represents the best record for a Cardinals QB in his first 22 games with the team in the modern era. Palmer was 6-0 as a starter in '14, becoming the first Cardinals QB to win six consecutive starts since Jim Hart in 1977 and the first to win each of his first six starts in a season since Hart won his first seven in 1974.
