Nur Fazura was born in Pahang, Malaysia, and is of Malay descent. She is the third of four siblings, with all of the others being boys. Her father passed away when she was only 17. She is now married to Malaysian actor, singer, and entrepreneur Fattah Amin. She kicked off her career in the Malaysian entertainment industry by hosting television shows and acting in several small TV series, including 'Datin Diaries' and 'Kasih Suci' and appeared in a number of movies, including 'Gol & Gincu' 'Qaisy & Laila' and 'Lagenda Budak Setan'. Her breakout role was as the lead character in the film 'Bicara Hati', earning her the Best New Actress award at the 17th Malaysian Film Festival. She also won for Best Supporting Actress in 2009 and 2014 at the Screen Awards and KL Film Critics Awards. She was also named 'Woman Of The Year' at the H-Live Awards 2014. In 2015, she was named Best Actress at both the 27th Malaysian Film Festival and KL Film Critics Awards, was also the Most Popular Female Actress at the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian in 2016. She was also recognized for her work in television, taking home the award for Most Popular Female Actress at the Telenovela Awards in 2017 and in 2018 earned another award for her role in 'J Revolusi' at the Anugerah MeleTOP Era. At this year's Anugerah Bintang Popular 2018, Fazura took home 3 accolades, namely for Most Popular TV Actress for her role in Hero Seorang Cinderella, which also gave her the Best Duo for TV award together with her husband, Fattah, who acted in the series with her. Her third win was for the Best Duo for Film category, alongside Malaysian actor Zul Ariffin for her role as Dian in J-Revolusi. Her next movie, 'The Legend of Pontianak', is scheduled for release in 2019. Fazura has also worked with a number of international networks, appearing as a host on MTV Asia and ESPN Star Sports. She also had her own series on E! Asia, titled 'Facing Up To Fazura' which ran for 2 seasons. Additionally, she has starred in the theatre production performance, of 'Suzana@60'. In 2015 she released her first single, 'Sayangi Dirimu', followed by her debut album 'Fazura' in 2017. She also collaborated with several local and international singers, including Malaysian alternative rock bad, Estranged, and Indonesian singer, Anggun. She is currently signed to Universal Music. Her background in Fashion Design motivated her to venture into the fashion industry with the opening of her boutique 'House Of Doll' and her fashion line, 'Fazbulous'. This led her to win the 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs award in 2016.
