Aaron is an independent producer, director and editor. Throughout his career, Edell has produced close to 100 video projects. He also spent many years acting in musicals and stage productions, as well as independent films. However, Edell has found most of his success behind the camera. In 1998 he won the tech@Home film festival in the SF Bay Area for his film The Nightmare which landed him a contract to direct 10 short videos for a cable television show in California. Edell went on to produce the critically acclaimed PBS television series Character Studies between 2005 and 2007. In 2005, Aaron's documentary Exhibit Human won Official Selection at the Cinequest Film festival. In 2007, Aaron's documentary 37 Million and Counting won an Award of Merit at the Accolade Competition, and was nominated for best documentary at the South African International Film Festival. Today, the film is part of the curriculum in 50 colleges and universities across the globe. Aaron earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts at Hampshire College, where he majored in film/video and pre-medical studies.
