Antony Webb is a Western Australian writer-director with an extensive background in cinematography, editing and producing with a focus on creating high-concept genre films that have a strong emphasis on character and heart. In 2020, Ant's sci-fi short film Carmentis (2020) was selected for competition at the Tribeca Film Festival and was shortlisted for Best Narrative Short Film. The film won gold at the Western Australian and South Australia ACS Awards in the short film category for its cinematography. It also screened at Fantasia Film Festival, won the inaugural CinefestOz Best Film prize and has been made a finalist in the ATOM Awards. Ant has won nine West Australian Screen Awards including "Best Director (Short)" for The Fan (2013) and the prestigious Young Filmmaker of the Year Award. In late 2015, Antony traveled to Vancouver where he shadowed two directors across three episodes of the science fiction series The 100 (2014).
